Description:
A Chinese Dragon that I drew by hand (although, I did copy another sketch in the traditional style - i.e. no tracing!) The only tools used were the Pen and Pencil (and the Node tool of course!) It's my first outing with my rather shiny Intuos 4 tablet... Potentially thinking of using it as a t-shirt design. Comments welcome as always! Caz :)

Yeah... the Intuos 4 (L) hit the budget a bit...been saving up since I saw Matt's! Although, I did use my tiny A6 Intuos 2 for 7 years! It's just too small for the big monitors we have now. Still a useful spare for the old laptop though and if this one lasts as long...

EXCELLENT drawing Caz - a lot of work seems to have gone into this and the results are well worth it! clap

These Intuos 4 tablets are indeed very nice, and very shiny - I wish I could afford one though! (the one I use at work isn't really mine, so although I get to see one every day, I don't actually get much time to draw anything with it!) Still, back to the point - it's very shiny... and black too... and so, so shiny... innocent

Thanx guys.

In truth... about 8 hours (I think - no crashes though wink) The scales took FOREVER. lol However, I will now need a new nib for my new Wacom pen (yes, after only 8 hours use thumbdown ) but that's an entirely different subject altogether!

Caz,

Doing the scales any other way would have been a mistake. The effort paid off. The scales follow the dragon's contour making the effect much more impressive. The color combo is fantastic, the shading and highlights are just right giving the illusion of graceful, almost deliberate movement. Great concept and execution – 10 stars to you! proposetoast proposetoast clap clap biggrin
