A Chinese Dragon that I drew by hand (although, I did copy another sketch in the traditional style - i.e. no tracing!) The only tools used were the Pen and Pencil (and the Node tool of course!) It's my first outing with my rather shiny Intuos 4 tablet... Potentially thinking of using it as a t-shirt design. Comments welcome as always!
Caz :)

| penslayer Un-ignore | Great Drawing Caz ..wish I could afford an Intuos 4![]() i have to make do with a Trust tablet at the moment..but it's a large sized one ![]() |
| cazcarrot Un-ignore | Yeah... the Intuos 4 (L) hit the budget a bit...been saving up since I saw Matt's! Although, I did use my tiny A6 Intuos 2 for 7 years! It's just too small for the big monitors we have now. Still a useful spare for the old laptop though and if this one lasts as long... |
| MattP Un-ignore | EXCELLENT drawing Caz - a lot of work seems to have gone into this and the results are well worth it! ![]() These Intuos 4 tablets are indeed very nice, and very shiny - I wish I could afford one though! (the one I use at work isn't really mine, so although I get to see one every day, I don't actually get much time to draw anything with it!) Still, back to the point - it's very shiny... and black too... and so, so shiny... ![]() |
| MattP Un-ignore | Take a look at Cazcarrot's fantastic Chinese Dragon! This is a seriously slick and stylish creation!!! |
| cazcarrot Un-ignore | Thanx guys. In truth... about 8 hours (I think - no crashes though ) The scales took FOREVER. lol However, I will now need a new nib for my new Wacom pen (yes, after only 8 hours use |
| Major Confusion Un-ignore | Great stuff! ![]() And thanks for supplying the breakdown too |
| pcarfan Un-ignore | Caz, Doing the scales any other way would have been a mistake. The effort paid off. The scales follow the dragon's contour making the effect much more impressive. The color combo is fantastic, the shading and highlights are just right giving the illusion of graceful, almost deliberate movement. Great concept and execution – 10 stars to you! ![]() Effie |
