Can I ask how I might be able to surround the text around drawings, but keep the text intact. Bit like when doing say, an article page in a desktop publisher, or is that not possible within drawplus4 itself?

One way:

Draw the shape you want your text to occupy, with an edge that flows around the drawing(s), right click on your shape and use the Text option to add "frame text".

Default is centre-justified.
You can use the Frame Text Tool (share toolbar space with the Artistic Text Tool) to format left justification etc.

Finish by giving your outline shape an invisible fill and line.
