1. African Elephant walking - final version2.dpp
African Elephant drawn in DrawPlus X3 using the pen tool. The image is made up of over 1750 objects, just over 1000 in the trunk.
2. Remembrance
Used the pen tool to draw the shapes that made up the boot, including the shapes
that made up the main colours on the boot. Used the FX tool to add a small blur to
the shapes of colour on the front of the boots. Used the pen tool to make lines for
the stitching and then using the line tab changed the lines to dotted and the FX
tool to give them a bevel. I made the holes for the laces using the donut quick
shapes and the perspective tool, used the styles tab to make the lace holes and
buckle look metal. For some of the pieces of leather that made up the boot I used
different fills like linear and plasma to get the effect I wanted. I used the grunge
brushes in different colours and sizes to make the boots look worn and muddy. I used
the FX tool to add a drop shadow to the laces.
I used stock photos of army boots from 123RF for reference since I don't own a pair of these kind of boots to draw from. The photos were not autotraced, just used for reference
3. Chinese Dragon
A Chinese Dragon that I drew by hand (although, I did copy another sketch in the traditional style - i.e. no tracing!) The only tools used were the Pen and Pencil (and the Node tool of course!) It's my first outing with my rather shiny Intuos 4 tablet... Potentially thinking of using it as a t-shirt design. Comments welcome as always!
Caz :)
